Portion Control Made Easy

Disclaimer: I received a Precision Digital kitchen scale complimentary from EatSmart Products in exchange for my honest review.

If you read my Week in Review post this past Sunday, you'll know that I recently broke a pretty big weight barrier. So exciting!!

Yes, after six weeks of dedicated hard work during the Bikini Series, I'm starting to see some real progress. I can't give all the credit to working out every day, though.

No, my success is also partly due to watching what I eat and trying to make healthier choices.

I gave up fast food.
I committed to drink at least 72 oz of water a day.
I tracked all my food {most days}.

These small changes helped a lot, but I needed a little more.
Enter EatSmart Scales.

I tend to eat larger than necessary portions. Sometimes because I'm not paying attention; sometimes because I don't want anything to go to waste. I knew I needed to pay closer attention to not only what I was eating but also how much, so I went on the hunt for a kitchen scale.

I found just what I needed with the Precision Digital Kitchen Scale.

It's super easy to use and super lightweight. It also has a very low profile, which means you can store it pretty much anywhere. Or if you leave it on the counter, it won't take up a lot of space.

The nice large display makes it very easy to read, and the recessed platform makes it perfect for weighing food directly on the scale.

My favorite feature? Well, that has to be the tare function.

Place the scale on a flat surface and turn on. Place a bowl, plate, measuring cup, etc on the scale.

Press the On button again, and it will zero out the scale.

Add the food you want to the scale to get the weight of just the food without the weight of the container. Brilliant!

Clean-up is a breeze due to the plastic design, but using the tare function makes clean-up of the scale that much easier.

I've been using my scale for everything - from berries to tortilla chips to yogurt. Really anything that isn't easy to portion on its own.

Here's a quick glance of all the great features of this scale.

At under $20, the price of this scale is extremely reasonable as well! It kind of makes portion control a no-brainer.

If you're in the market for a kitchen scale, I would definitely recommend the Precision Digital Kitchen Scale.

  1. I have used a scale for years and years. It is so much more accurate than measuring with a cup. Good for you to start using this tool in your own kitchen.

    1. Thanks, Elle! I just need to get into the habit of using it more frequently.

  2. I finally got a scale a few years ago and I looooove it. I can eyeball amounts but it's super awesome for baking when everything needs to be spot on. I wish I had it when I was counting calories and losing weight, but I'm glad I have it now at least!

    1. I'm glad you that you have a scale you love! I'm trying to get in more of a habit of using mine.

  3. I have a kitchen scale but I need one that measures things in ounces! This looks great.

  6. Looks like a great scale! I've never used one but I probably should!

    1. It will change your life! LOL. Seriously, I'm still getting in the habit of using it all the time. It's nice to know how much I'm consuming.

  7. I've never used a kitchen scale, but this looks like a good thing to have on hand. The tare function is genius!

  8. I love my kitchen scale, but it is on it's last legs......I have had it for years. This one seems great, I'll have to check it out when I need a replacement.

  9. I've never used a scale in the kitchen before, but it does sound like there are a lot of great benefits to doing so. I usually either measure out food using more traditional methods, or just gauge portions by eye.

    1. For me, using a scale helps me to STOP when it's time to stop (I'm talking chips). :)
